Somali pirates’ spokesman confirms new imminent
attacks on the ships
Nairobi (waagacusub) A spokesman for Somali pirates
has said in a press meeting held in Mogadishu , the
country’s capital on Monday that they will increase
piracy attacks on the foreign ships sailing in Somali
waters.
A man namely Khaliif Osman who claimed to be pirates’
spokesman, said that pirates’ sea operations in the
Gulf of Aden and Indian ocean would endlessly get on
as long as illegal fishing and west’s dumping of chemical
and nuclear wastes in Somalia’s coasts are completely
stopped.
He stated that pirates would heavily arm all Somali
people including fishermen and pastoralists near coastal
towns to enable to fight foreign ships in Somali waters.
The pirates’ spokesperson has accused Italy of keeping
6 Somali ships in Yemeni city, Aden and warned Italy
against handing over those ships to the other countries
rather than Somalia .
With Somali piracy problems are very harmful and frustrating
to the shipping lanes and nearly to paralyze world’s
economy because of the width of sea affected by the
piracy, pirates are threatening to wage new attacks
on the ships whilst the most powerful countries have
military presence in Somali waters.
