Speaking to the reporters in Mogadishu today after
argent meeting by the parliament members, Mr. Nor asked
for outside forces deployment from the countries in
the region like Kenya, Ethiopia, Djibouti and Yemen
to stop the military advance by the Islamist hardliners.
His call came following heavy fighting continues in
Mogadishu’s eastern neighborhoods where the Al-Qaeda
linked militant groups are attempting to overthrow the
UN-backed Somalia transitional government.
He said Al-Qaeda senior members who are from Pakistan
are leading the fighting in the capital and warned of
possible security threats in the region if the world
wouldn’t prevent Al-Qaeda power in Somalia.
It is not clear how the governments in the region respond
to the call by the embattled government.
