Somalia: Mortar Shells on Somali police training academic

Somali insurgency groups have launched a shelling mortar attack on Somali police training academic in Mogadishu known as School Polizia whilst ceremony for 66th official anniversary of Somali police force
Independent Sources say that at least 12 motor shells launched from locations where Islamists have bases have hit in and around the site where the celebration was taking place with Somali ministers police senior officers and other government officials were attending no casualty is reported so far.

During the motor shelling on Police academic in Mogadishu Somalia , there have been many Somali government senior authorities in celebration site including interior minister Abdulkadir Ali Omar and Somali recently nominated army commanders.

The occasion maintained as it had been planned without having suspension caused by the motor shells although there was general feeling in area of fear and insecurity in the result of the shelling.


The government of Somalia with the help of AMISON force in Mogadishu has paid a response of strong and terrible shelling on Bakara market and its neighboring areas after the shelling of insurgents on Somali police training academic.

The head of the Mogadishu ambulance service said 12 civilians were killed and 15 others mainly civilians were admitted to Mogadishu hospitals after suffering injuries of the shelling

As it is clear that the civilians are the only victims of such shelling which is constant in Mogadishu, there has been deaths in Government's shells on the civilian locations and as well as a heavy shell has hit the building in which Shabelle radio station is located although no damage of life or material was reported.

even though the security situation in Mogadishu remains tense until now The recent wave of shelling which its roar could be heard through out the city has resulted in the closure of business places.
