Somalia:Al-Shabab stoned a rapist to death in Wanalaweyn district

A man who has rapped a girl and then throttled her to death was on Sunday stoned to death by the hardline Islamists of Al-Shabab in the town of Wanlaweyn in the lower shabelle region in southern Somalia.

The rapping case occurred on the 28th of May this year at Yaq-bariweyne a location around Wanlaweyn district , and the officials of Al-Shabab said that since they heard this report they have been carrying out series investigations pertaining to the rape case and eventually said had came to know that Mohamed was the culprit.

The stoned Mohamed Mohamud Abdi was in his early 30s while the rapped girl Fatima Tifow was merely 18 years old.

“The turnout was very gigantic hundreds of the residents of Wanlaweyn district and Al-Shabab officials gathered at the venue where the incident was taking place to witness how the punishment was taking place” Aliyow Ibrahim a resident of Wanlaweyn district speaking to Wagacusb website on Monday morning.

This is not the first stone to death case to be implemented by the Islamists it was sometimes last year when the Islamists have deliberately stoned to death a 13 year old innocent girl in the southern seaport town of Kismayu.
