Somalia:Heavy explosion jolts Baladweyn town in central Somalia.

An ear piercing explosion was overnight heard in Baladweyn town the headquarters of Hiran region in central Somalia.

“The explosion occurred around 9:10pm local time overnight and it was heard virtually heard in most of the sections in the town, it exactly occurred near Al-Aqsa primary and secondary school in the west of Baladweyn” said Mumin Ali resident in Baladweyn town speaking to Wagacusub Website on Monday morning.

The resident also added that where the explosion occurred is the cardinal street where the forces and officials of the Islamic Courts Union regularly use.

So far 2 passersby were reported to have been wounded in the explosion, which its type is yet mysteries.

It was sometimes this month when top Somali government officials including the former security Minister Omar Hashi Adan and the former Somali ambassador to Ethiopia Abdikarim (Laqanyo) were killed in a suicide attack in this very town (Baladweyn).

The suicide attack which was international and nationally criticized was claimed by the radical Islamists Al-Shabab.

The dwellers of Baladweyn town are showing great anxiety over these explosions which are now and then coming back in their residential town.
